Welcome to Initiative for Health & Social Impact (IHSI)
IHSI is a research-driven national non-governmental organization (NNGO) that operates at the intersection of public health, education, innovation and social welfare. We are dedicated to providing decision-makers with the data they need to design impactful policies and programs. Our work spans both rural and urban communities in Nigeria, focusing on health, education, innovation and social well-being interventions that directly impact the most vulnerable populations, such as children, women, and marginalized groups. Our expertise lies in designing and executing surveys, such as the Assessment, Baseline line, Endline etc.
Our Approach
IHSI adopts a community-centered approach to research, prioritizing participatory methods and leveraging innovative technologies to ensure solutions are driven by the needs of the people they serve and adapt to evolving community needs.
While initially focused on th northern State of Nigeria, IHSI is committed to expanding its reach across Nigeria. Our goal is to understand and address the unique educational and health challenges faced by diverse communities, from bustling cities to remote areas.
Annual Learning and Education Achievement Survey (ALEAS): IHSI's flagship project, ALEAS evaluates educational progress in Borno State by assessing children's literacy and numeracy skills. Data from ALEAS informs education policies, drives targeted interventions, and contributes to improving educational outcomes for all children.
Public Health Impact Research: Through comprehensive surveys, IHSI evaluates healthcare access, nutrition, and overall health outcomes across Nigeria. These findings guide the development of effective public health programs, such as maternal and child health interventions and nutritional support programs, particularly in underserved communities.
Social Well-being Assessments: IHSI conducts surveys to understand the socio-economic conditions of communities, including access to essential services like clean water and sanitation. This research provides crucial insights for developing social policies and programs that address poverty, unemployment, and other critical issues affecting community well-being.
Partnerships
We believe in the power of collaboration. IHSI actively seeks partnerships with governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and international institutions to expand our reach and implement impactful programs that address the specific needs of communities.
